Dr. Sam Gharbi, MD

Experience & Expertise

Dr. Sam Gharbi is a specialist physician with a history of working in both the Canadian and American healthcare industry.  He has experience in both the inpatient hospital setting as well as in outpatient clinical care.   In addition, Dr Gharbi has administrative experience in the healthcare industry, having served for 5 years as Associate Chief Medical Information Officer for Vancouver Coastal Health Authority.  Outside of clinical medicine, his areas of expertise include Health Informatics and Health Information Technology (HIT), having spearheaded reform in these sectors in regards to telemedicine, patient handover, and patient privacy.

Being a subject matter expert in Digital Solutions for the Healthcare Industry, Dr. Sam Gharbi has also been a Subject Matter Expert for Cerner Electronic Health Record since 2013.  He has played a key role in the design and successful implementation of digital records across with Vancouver Coastal Health, Provincial Health Services Authority and Providence Healthcare  in their “Go-Live” rollout of the Cerner clinical informational system.

Dr. Sam Gharbi continues to work with hospitals and clinics to develop and implement better healthcare technology and information systems.  He strives to improve access and quality of care through digital tools with his recent work as co-founder of Arya Health, which provides novel & intuitively designed cloud based digital systems for improving patient care.
